The Human Music Relationship.

Music is a means of making sense of our lives on an individual and collective level. They say man's best buddy is a dog and this may be true but let us not forget the role music plays in our life.

There are also many forms of art and all have an important role in the human experience.

In my observation I have yet to see any other art or animal touch the amount of people music has. It goes beyond an appreciation or knowledge. There seems to be a vast amount of creative expression and identification even when a desire or ability to perform does not exist. It is far more common for us to identify with a type of music than with a type of dog or pet. There are of course many folks who do but it seems far more identify with music.

Music is also a freind, a passion, support and of course a teacher of life. The form and genre music is delivered ranges to the degree we the human species vary. However, regardless of race, gender, culture, physical features, etc. We are all human and though there are some of us that leave room for debate even music finds a place in the soul. Soul not in the genre of music which I am a big fan of, but in a deeper sense. A sense that can unite and divide, support and repel, love and despise, bring strength or fear. It is vibration just as we are vibration. Music holds and releases energy just as we hold and release energy.  We may not be  dependent on music for our survival yet this is certainly debatable. Our relationship with music is important.  We give each other wings and freedom. We have a very real relationship with music and this relationship is either nurtured or abused but none the less it certainly lives somewhere in each and everyone of us.

It may grow or remain stagnant and manifest  in various degrees but it is a real part of every living thing.  In the discovery of our own vibration and unity with music we can expand a part of our soul far beyond our physical body and limitation. We can reach out to each other and far beyond. When music is born solely for fame and/or fortune it can be compared to a child born into an abusive, non loving environment. Sometimes circumstances are overcome but more often there just seems to be something missing and this is difficult to mask. Even the least aware of us recognize when something is not from genuine passion.

I say play. create, compose, dance, sing and share but do it for the pure joy of doing it and than no matter the end result the journey will transmit positive love and energy out into the world. Which always has and still as the song goes, is exactly what the world needs now.

  • For musicians, music producers, songwriters, composers, and such, please notice the player on the top right side of this page.
  • You can listen to music if you enjoy alternative rock but also you may find it helpful to visit. Longshot Productions is a new and very cool website with something for just about anyone who loves music.
  • For musicians, composers and songwriters, there is a link titled Unsung Heros, you can join for free if you are in the first 100 members. Upload your music and if approved it will be featured.
  • One of the features I love is the musicians lounge where you can watch videos. Even rare footage of George Harrison in the studio recording. Anyhow, it is a great site so if you get the chance check it out.  Recently Ken & Geri Long of Longshot Productions created a video for one of my songs I collaborated with fellow musician/composer Dave Pez. It is a bit graphic but a brilliant wake up call to the entire human race.
